In accordance to our curriculum intent we feel History should:
HEAD: aid development of pupils skill to think critically and participate in historical enquiry
HEART: consider the diverse history of Britain and the world and celebrate the stories of a range of historical figures
HANDS: allow children to engage in creative ways to ask and answer historical questions as wsell as gain historical knowledge
We have implemented an inclusive and diverse curriculum that aims to enable all our children to flourish and to develop key historical skills and to apply them within their own historical enquiry. We teach the National Curriculum, supported by practicing the historical skills of chronology, continuity and change, cause and consequence, sources and historical enquiry. This ensures that skills and knowledge are built on year by year and sequenced appropriately to maximise learning for all children.
