Our School Governors

Burrough Green CofE Primary Academy and Great Wilbraham CofE Primary Academy are now supported by a joint Executive Board of Governors, providing strategic oversight across both schools.

The Executive Board works closely with the  Executive Headteacher and Heads of Schools, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of each school.

Our three core responsibilities are to:

• Set the vision and strategic direction of both schools, ensuring our Christian ethos and values remain at the heart of our work.
• Hold school leaders to account for educational standards, pupil outcomes and staff performance.
• Oversee financial performance, ensuring resources are managed effectively and money is spent wisely to benefit our pupils.

The Executive Board meets four times each academic year to consider the progress, priorities and strategic development of both schools.

We use the Circle Model of Governance, with no formal subcommittees. Individual governors have Link Governor roles, focusing on specific areas such as safeguarding, SEND, Finance, curriculum, and the School Improvement Plan.

Our governors work collectively to provide challenge, support and strategic leadership, ensuring both schools continue to provide the best possible education and opportunities for our children.

The Executive Governing Body consists of:

4 Foundation governors: Anthea Kenna (Chair), Alan Sharp, two vacancies

1 Executive Headteacher: John Turner

2 Elected staff governors: Nicole Pizey and Katie Chaudhry

2 co-opted governors: Nindy Dhaliwal, Dawn Graham, 

2 elected parent governors: James Wilson
